Layer 1: identify evidence from a summary
Summarise your identity and family, highest and bachelor’s qualifications, work history, grounds for applying and intended timing. Keep ID numbers, bank statements and health details out of the public enquiry form. We use the summary to confirm which documents you need and how to submit them.
Layer 2: connect each fact to evidence
- Identity and relationships: relevant travel documents and relationship evidence.
- Education: degree and graduation information, with verification required by the route.
- Work or employment: genuine role, dates and terms.
- Income or assets: where required, evidence matching the definition, period and ownership rules.
Required documents vary by route. Use these groups to organise your files, then follow the official forms, checklists and requests for further evidence.
Layer 3: reconcile names, dates and versions
Cross-check name spellings, document validity and education or employment dates. Record explanations for name changes, spelling differences or overlapping periods. Keep scans complete and legible, using the category, name and date in each filename. Check translation and certification requirements for each document; not every item necessarily needs notarisation.
Finally: track submissions and requests
Mark documents as awaiting collection, awaiting review, submitted or needing supplements. Record the reason, owner and deadline for each supplement. Keep submitted versions and confirmations; save later edits separately.
